Soon you'll be joining the drove of business men Fit new moms jogging by with their headphones in The glare when the light hits the ice Keep your head down The glare when the light hits the ice Keep your head down Sun's coming up Don't give them nothing I held my face of to the side Red eyed and calling out to nothing How come the day don't let you hide Call a cab cause you said that they double as therapy Spill your guts and they don't even charge you a cleaning fee Day's gonna break you in two Keep your head down Day's gonna break you in two Keep your head down I got locked out of my hotel And I fell 3 floors down, oh well And this nail holds me together, but I can't stand on both legs and I can't wait out the winter Laying down while you're away

How does he believe all of this stupid shit Trying to relate to me, oblivious Childlike naivety he should have shed Callousness and cruelty lay on his head Outside in the hall When we were young We scratched the paint to see The lustre underneath We know That it's rusted away and it always was and I don't wanna look at that thing anymore And every nerve inside my body's screaming at me now They say I need to get the hell out, doesn't matter how And I'll pretend I have no clue what made me feel this way Deflect the question, push the answer back another day Outside in the hall When we were young We scratched the paint to see The lustre underneath We know That it's rusted away and it always was and I don't wanna look at that thing anymore But I can't even blink No, not when I'm with you, not from this point of view I know, I know, I know It's the cross that we bear and we'll never repair all the damage we've done this corroded part of you Outside in the hall When we were young We scratched the paint to see The lustre underneath We know That it's rusted away and it always was and I don't wanna look at that thing anymore

about

Back in 2020, OEM Compilation 1 started as a way to offer the experimental musicians of Ottawa a space to virtually share their creations. COVID took away the opportunity to experience that creative drive in person but the Compilation provided a different kind of space; not a replacement for in-person experiences but not a distant second choice either. OEM Compilation I provided many windows into the Ottawa experimental music scene while also offering all proceeds to local charities. OEM Compilation II Side A and Side B, open many more windows not only into Ottawa but across the river, and around the world as well. This release also marks the 10th anniversary of OEM's existence.

The inspiration and power of the solstice sun shines brightly on this release day. It highlights the remarkable talent that has been revealed in OEM Compilation II. There is vast and immense talent in this new compilation. Each contribution shines as a reflection of drive, will, and creativity.

Enjoy the collective space of OEM Compilation II alone with a set of headphones, organize an intimate listening party, or blast the sonic selections across the city, and beyond! Let the music resonate far and wide! -Lloyd Keane

Please be sure to click on each track to find out more about the track and the artist/band.

All proceeds from the sale of OEM Compilation II have been donated to Kids Help Phone (kidshelpphone.ca). We had to end the fundraiser earlier than expected as Bandcamp has implemented a new tax rule that requires users to submit tax information if an artist or organization earns or will likely earn more than $600 in a calendar year. As OEM does not make money from releasing these compilations or selling merch, we wanted to avoid doing this. In total, fans and artists were able to raise $479.21!

Special thanks to graphic artist Exovedate for the incredible album covers and all other artwork associated with this release. An interesting note about the image used in the design is that it is based on a photo taken on the corner of Bank Street or Elgin, in Ottawa, way back when. To follow or contact Exovedate for any graphic needs please check out the Instagram page here: www.instagram.com/exovedate/.

Special thanks to Lloyd Keane for the release bio. Check out Lloyd's music here: (othertowers.bandcamp.com/music).

Special thanks to all the artists who contributed a track to the compilation. Your music matters and is food for the soul.

It has been a great experience getting to interact with so many people over the past 10 years. The OEM page started out as just a place to interact with like minded music lovers and it soon blossomed into a hub for artists, promoters, pr, and venues. What a ride it has been. Thank you!!
